This was the bass driver room at Mordaunt-Short when it was at that lovely site Dursford Mill.  The photograph was taken November 1987.

The figure lurking on the left is Mark Homer.  He later worked  at Canon but has now reportedly returned to teaching.  At the time he was being Chief Engineer Vernon Innes' assistant during the summer vac.  ...

... and this was another workshop across the car park where two dudes devoted themselves to building the current flagship the 442.  Note the Wayne Kerr.  Are they still in business?
